Wolf Englender told Fox News that despite the fact that almost a year has passed since Moshe’s death, he has yet to hear from Arnold’s Meat Food Products regarding the incident.

Brooklyn, NY – Although the tragic death of a Williamsburg boy who was run over by a truck a year ago was the catalyst for a new law requiring trucks to have a special mirror enabling drivers to see the blind spot in front of them, those mirrors are reportedly few and far between and the boy’s parents are suing the company that owned the truck in an effort to bring more attention to the issue.

Four year old Moshe Englender was killed last year riding his tricycle on Heyward Street when the driver of an Arnold’s Meat Food Products truck unknowingly hit the boy as it was pulling out of a loading dock.  Englender, being low to the ground and directly in front of the vehicle, was in the truck’s blind spot and witnesses, including the child’s mother, saw the truck drag the boy approximately two hundred feet down the street before the driver Office Project Key, who was unable to see the child on the tricycle, even realized what had happened.  Englender was pronounced dead at the scene and no charges were filed against the driver of the truck.

Englender’s death spurred Governor Cuomo to sign a law two months later, requiring convex mirrors called “crossover mirrors” to be placed on all large trucks registered in New York State and driving on New York City streets Windows 7 serial key, enabling drivers to better see persons or objects directly in front of their vehicle.  While the law Windows 7 serial key, which had long been suggested as a potential life saving measure, took effect this past January, according to Fox News, few trucks in the city have the required mirrors, which cost approximately $100 to install.  Crossover mirrors have been required on school buses since the 1970’s.

According to reports on Fox News NY, the Englender family knows that suing the meat packing company will not bring their son back, but they hope that by keeping the issue in the news, further similar tragedies will be prevented.  Wolf Englender told Fox News that despite the fact that almost a year has passed since Moshe’s death, he has yet to hear from Arnold’s Meat Food Products regarding the incident.

Jerusalem – Israel’s Supreme Court has set a new deadline for the demolition of an unauthorized Jewish outpost in the West Bank.

The court on Monday ruled that the Ulpana outpost must be dismantled by July 1.

A May 1 deadline for its removal was postponed so that the court could hear an appeal by the government replica watches, which asked for a 90-day delay.

About 30 Jewish families live in Ulpana. The court has ruled that the outpost was illegally built on private Palestinian land.

Israel has about 120 authorized settlements in the West Bank. Palestinians consider both the authorized settlements and the rogue outposts to be illegal encroachment on land they claim for a state.

Barack Obama was not the only Democrat on the ballot on Tuesday in West Virginia’s Democratic Presidential Primary. Keith Judd — also known as Inmate No. 11593-051 at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas — was running against him.

Judd Piercing Machine, who is serving out a 17.5 year sentence for extortion Machines Tattoo, currently has received 40 percent of the vote, with 83 percent of precincts reporting, according to The Associated Press. Obama currently has received 60 percent of the vote.

Obama’s lack of popularity in West Virginia has been well-documented. The state’s governor Earl Ray Tomblin and it’s junior senator Joe Manchin, both Democrats, have kept their distance from the president.

A further potential embarrassment for the Democrats, as The Charleston Gazette reports, Judd only needs 15 percent of the vote — which, indeed, it looks like he has accomplished — in order to be entitled to have at least one delegate represent him at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. this summer.

Judd would not be the first Democratic challenger to Obama to qualify for delegate representation at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. In Oklahoma’s Democratic primary in March, Randall Terry, a Democratic candidate who founded the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue and has more than 50 arrests under his belt Tattoo Supplies sale, received 18 percent of the vote in the primary, giving him one delegate.

It is unknown what type of effect Judd’s status as a federal prisoner might have on the delegate allocation and selection to the convention.

DAYTON — Area civic and business leaders are looking to Washington to help fund a variety of projects they say will benefit the region.

Participants in the Dayton Development Coalition’s 28th Annual Community Leader Fly-In, a yearly trip to Washington Tattoo Guns For Cheap, D.C., say they have a better understanding of what they will receive from government leaders. They also say those leaders have a better understanding of what the Dayton area needs as the area seeks federal funding for projects in a post earmarks era.

The coalition paraded about 100 representatives from six counties, 10 cities and from area colleges, hospitals, banks and businesses through meetings with Air Force officials, the two state senators and area congressmen for two days last week.

“It’s more than networking,” said Jeff Hoagland, president and CEO of the coalition. “It is so important to (Ohio’s congressmen and senators) to see a region organized, coming together, speaking with one voice with a group of projects they’ve agreed upon.

“It’s unheard of in most states. It hasn’t been duplicated in Ohio. It’s a community effort. It’s a community buy-in.”

The group outlined potential projects that covered areas such as defense, infrastructure and education. The projects ranged from as much as a $29 million highway interchange in Centerville to a $20,000 request for Greene County Parks.

Congress no longer hands out earmarks, so fly-in participants must look for other ways to fund their projects.

“That changes things a little bit,” Hoagland said. “We’ll go through departments to look for funding. The money’s still there.”

Even though Vandalia city manager Rob Anderson remembers when a previous earmark had to be turned down for lack of matching funds, and he had no projects to pitch this year, he thinks the trip is worthwhile.

“Next year,” Anderson said, “we may have a project we need funding for. We know the routine, we know how to go about it.”

Originally born to help Washington understand the importance of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to the community and the community to meet key Washington figures, the venture has expanded. Cities not connected to the base, such as Kettering and Trotwood Tattoo Of Tattoo Machine, are there to promote the region as a whole, and can break away to have meetings for their own special interests.

“We want to make a big show,” said Kettering city manager Mark Schwieterman. “We want the legislators to know we are all behind our projects.”

Trotwood city manager Mike Lucking said he was able to have personal meetings with congressmen he’d never achieve at home.

Cities such as Huber Heights and Riverside, which border the Base, did not go this year, but have gone in the past. Each voiced approval of the endeavor .

Cadillac ULC – Click above for high-res image gallery

According to Autocar Tattoo Supplies, Cadillac may have a burning desire to lock horns with Mini. The site quotes designer Niki Smart as saying that the time is right for The Wreath and Crest to build a model akin to the company’s Urban Luxury Concept that we saw at this month’s LA Auto Show. His reasoning? The company needs metal that’s more appealing to European buyers than what’s available in the current lineup. That means a heavier focus on small Tattoo Supplies, hatchback designs that still retain the premium Cadillac aesthetic. Smart seems to think that translates into a Mini Cooper fighter.

With its scissor doors and 78 mpg hybrid drivetrain, the Urban Luxury Concept isn’t any closer to production than the now-iconic Sixteen Concept of years past. Even so, Smart told Autocar that GM’s Advanced Design Studio has looked into ways to make the vehicle production ready, funky doors and all. While we aren’t exactly wild about the design of the ULC, the thought of a flingable Cadillac with a V on its hatch is certainly a notion worth mulling.

Discount Bandage dresses
Many countries have produced supercars with price tags that dip into the six figures, but that rare breed of exotic that fetches upwards of a quarter million is all but completely exclusive to Europe: Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani out of Italy Buy Bandage dresses, Bugatti from France Buy White Herve leger, McLaren and higher-end Aston Martin models of Britain Cheap Christian Audigier Clothes, top-of-the-line Porsche offerings from Germany, Koenigsegg of Sweden and so on. That’s what makes the Lexus LFA so exceptional. It extends beyond the Acura NSX and the Nissan GT-R that previously defined the top end of Japanese supercars and joins its European rivals at the very top of the market. But that, we’re reading Cheap Herve leger strapless, is only the beginning.

According to a shadowy anonymous source cornered by AutoGuide, Toyota is already working on a successor to the LFA, and their mole says the car will be even more exotic Replica Herve Leger gown, more powerful and more expensive. Just what that entails when the LFA is already limited to 500 examples, packs a 552-horsepower 4.8-liter V10 and costs $375,000 has us conjuring up images of an animé take on the Bugatti Veyron. AG suggests the car could nudge the million-dollar mark with production limited to just 100 examples.

Could it be a production version of the LF-LC concept? It’s probably too early to tell. In fact, we’re going to go ahead and take this entire rumor with a few shakers-worth of salt and advise you to consider doing the same.

Horse medicine isn’t recommended for humans

A Texas death row inmate is challenging the substitution of pentobarbital for the more traditional sodium thiopental as the initial Cheap DKNY Clothing, anesthetizing drug in his three-drug execution cocktail. The state’s supply of sodium thiopental expired in March, and there is a worldwide shortage of the chemical agent. Pentobarbital, the proposed replacement, is commonly used in animal euthanasia. Do doctors and veterinarians use a lot of the same medications?

Absolutely. Dogs, cats, horses, and sheep regularly take the same medicines as wounded bipedals. Many, and perhaps most, antibiotics are approved for use in humans and animals. Versions of some of our anti-anxiety medications and painkillers are approved for other species as well. But just because the active ingredient is the same in human and animal formulations doesn’t mean the pills are identical—there’s often a difference in dosage, and the inactive ingredients may differ (in kind and amount) as well. So the state of Texas won’t buy its pentobarbital from the animal hospital, even though there is a super-concentrated veterinary dose specially formulated for euthanasia.

Many animal drugs start off as human medications, because there is far more money invested in human drug research. In such cases, manufacturers sometimes reformulate their drugs for sale to animal owners. For example Herve Leger sale, if the dose for dogs is less than for humans, they may have to add more binding agent to bulk the pill up to a manageable size. (The active ingredient constitutes a minuscule fraction of the overall volume of any pills.) The company might also put more or less of a chemical that aids in absorption.

In other cases, large companies working in both the medical and veterinary fields develop the two formulations side by side. The approval processes for human and animal drugs are entirely separate, although similar. Just like ordinary medicines, veterinary drugs have to clear randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled trials. Animal trials, however, often contain about one-tenth as many patients. (On occasion Cheap DKNY Clothing, pharmaceutical companies don’t bother with the animal approval process, because there isn’t much of a market for veterinary cancer drugs, for example. Vets have to prescribe those medicines off-label.)

Pills destined for animal use may also contain specific additives. Humans take the anti-inflammatory drug meloxicam in pill form, while dogs consume it as a liquid slathered over their dinners. To prevent Fido from turning his nose up at the medicated feast, the company includes a honey flavorant that is not approved as part of the human formulation.

So how dangerous is it for a human to take animal medicine? The official answer is that you shouldn’t take animal drugs. Even if you could accurately diagnose yourself Discount DKNY Clothing, figure out the appropriate dose, and adroitly cut the horse pills down to the right size, it’s hard to tell whether the amount and type of inactive ingredients in any particular drug are safe for people.

That said, while neither the government, the pharmaceuticals industry, nor the Explainer himself recommends taking veterinary medications, the truth is that, in some instances, if you get the dose right you’ll be fine, since a good many animal pills contain exactly the same ingredients as their human analogues (just in different proportions). Reckless readers may be interested to know that many agricultural supply stores contain a refrigerator case stocked with antibiotics and vaccines approved for use in livestock. These medicines, along with fish antibiotics, are available without a prescription Cheap Hale Bob Dresses, much to the chagrin of doctors, veterinarians, and public health advocates.

George Clooney stars as a professional assassin in The American.

In the new movie The American, George Clooney plays a mysterious professional assassin. The American got the Explainer wondering—are there people in the real world who commit murders for a living?

Probably not full-time. Lots of people kill for money, but they wear other hats as well. They may work as burglars, drug mules, or bodyguards in private security firms. And while national intelligence services occasionally task operatives with targeted assassinations, it’s unlikely that any of them keep “assassins” in their employ who do nothing but kill. Of course, we only know about the murderers we catch. No one can rule out the possibility that a well-paid gun-for-hire is loafing around the Italian countryside right now waiting for his agent to call.

The profile of your average contract killer largely depends on where he plies his trade. In the United States and in England, contract killers are usually small-time criminals looking to make extra cash. (Gigs pay between a few hundred dollars and $25 Herve Leger sale,000.) The FBI and London metropolitan police each investigate fewer than 100 contract killings per year, on average. Most are gang-related, but occasionally someone tries to bump off his or her spouse for insurance money. Trigger-men are often first-time killers, not well-trained international assassins.

In Russia, contract-killing is more systematized. With Russian police largely unable or unwilling to track down suspected murderers Replica Chanel Dresses, organized gangs began offering killer-for-hire services in the 1990s to add to their usual repertoire of pimping, drug dealing, extortion, and burglary. But, as in the United States and the U.K., it’s highly unlikely that any trigger men work exclusively in the murder business Discount Christian Audigier Clothing, and it’s not a terrifically paid side-job: Most hits pay only about a $100 Buy BCBG Dresses, with a few lucrative exceptions. Some estimate that, at the peak of Russia’s crime wave in the 1990s, there were around 1,000 contract killings per year. (Such killings seem to have diminished slightly in recent years, but remain a significant problem.) At that rate, it’s unlikely that a gangster could feed his family on murder alone, and there’s no evidence that any tried.

The killers who best fit the Clooney-profile—well-trained, organized Cheap Herve Leger gown, efficient, and discreet—work directly for governments. The Israeli Mossad has carried out a number of Hollywood-worthy hits, and investigators estimate that the recent murder of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a Dubai hotel, presumably carried out by Israeli operatives, required 20 planners and months of reconnaissance and planning. But Buy Hale Bob Dresses, again, even Mossad probably doesn’t have a stable of dedicated assassination specialists—they just have agents who sometimes carry out assassinations.

Mitt Romney

Scott Brown won Republicans a big victory on Jan. 19. But Mitt Romney may have won them an even bigger one.

To credit former Gov. Romney with a role in Senator-elect Brown’s Massachusetts upset, and the consequent likely death of the health reform bill, might at first seem ludicrous. Romney played almost no public role in Brown’s campaign, mainly because the Michigan-bred Republican is no longer very popular in the Bay State. (During his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, in which Romney made an abrupt rightward turn, campaign aides actually classified Massachusetts a “bogeyman” to run against—along with France, taxes, Hollywood values, moral relativism Replica Seiko Watches, Hillary Clinton Replica Swiss Movement Watches, and jihadism.) “There’s no added advantage in having Romney with Brown,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston, told Politico’s Alex Isenstadt on Jan. 18, “and there’s potentially some disadvantage. I don’t think there’s an upside here at all.”

But there is evidence that Romney played a powerful indirect role in Brown’s victory by persuading Massachusetts voters that they didn’t need the health care reform bill that Brown and his fellow Republicans oppose. How did he achieve that? By giving them a slightly more left-wing version of the same health reform plan four years ago.

According to an election-night poll by Scott Rasmussen (who leans conservative but has a pretty good track record), 56 percent of Massachusetts voters said health care was the most important factor in their voting decisions, compared with only 25 percent who rated the economy the most important factor. A narrow majority of 51 percent said they opposed the health reform bill, compared with 47 percent who favored it. Fifty percent said they’d prefer no health reform bill at all to the one being hatched in Washington. (Brown’s position: “I will insist they start over.”) That jibes with an exit poll conducted by the Republican firm Fabrizio, McLaughlin, & Associates, which found that 52 percent of voters opposed health care reform. Forty-eight percent said it was the single issue determining their vote. (No independent exit polls are available, apparently because the Boston Globe and the national press decided, early on, that conducting any would not be worth their while.)

Because Massachusetts has had its own version of health care reform since 2006—one that serves as the closest model for Obamacare—it is tempting to conclude that Replica Rolex Watches, in voting for Brown, Bay Staters were saying, “We’ve tried it and it stinks.” There’s no question that some people in Massachusetts feel this way, most notable among them Dr. Jeffrey S. Flier, dean of Harvard Medical School. (On Jan. 11 Flier hosted a symposium that mostly dumped all over Romneycare.)

But most people in Massachusetts feel differently. A 2008 survey published in Health Affairs found that support for Romneycare, which stood at 61 percent at the time of its enactment, had steadily increased to 69 percent. Support has since fallen (probably because the recession has made voters understandably anxious about the state’s sharply rising premiums). But a majority of Bay Staters continues to favor Romneycare. Fifty-nine percent supported it in a Sept. 2009 poll conducted by the Boston Globe and Harvard’s School of Public Health, and 54 percent did in a Suffolk University poll released last week. Dr. Flier notwithstanding Replica Vacheron Constantin Watches, physicians favor Romneycare more than their patients do; a November 2009 survey published in the New England Journal of Medicine found doctor support at 70 percent.

Perhaps in deference to these poll numbers (or perhaps because he voted for it as a state senator), Brown ran as a Romneycare fan. “I support the 2006 health care law that was successful in expanding coverage,” states his campaign Web page. His only criticism, widely shared, is that it needs to “turn its attention to controlling costs.”

Both Brown and Romney have been asked repeatedly to reconcile their support for Romneycare with their opposition to Obamacare. “They’re two different programs,” Brown told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on Jan. 13. “What we have here is a free-market enterprise where we’re providing insurance in various levels to people in Massachusetts. The plans in Washington are a one-size-fits-all plan.”

Brown must know that isn’t true. Obamacare, like Romneycare Fake A Lange & Sohne Watches, would offer multiple private health insurance plans through one or more exchanges Longines Replica Watches, modeled on Romneycare’s “Connector.” The exchanges would take a less active role in regulating policies than their Massachusetts counterparts. It’s true that Democrats sought to create a “public option” plan to sell government health insurance alongside the private plans in the exchanges. But the public option didn’t make it into the Senate bill, and it’s common knowledge that battle is lost.

Romney was even more disingenuous than Brown about the supposed difference between Obamacare and Romneycare in a Jan. 11 interview with Greta Van Susteren of Fox News. He began with the same fictitious claim that Obamacare would impose a “one-size fits all plan.” He then continued:

No. 2, you don’t raise taxes on people to put it in place, which they’re intent on doing.

No. 3, you don’t put a mandate on businesses. That’s not going to create jobs at a critical time like this.

No. 4, you don’t cut Medicare. You don’t put the cost of this system on the backs of our senior citizens.

What could be better than a mid-engine Porsche with a 500-horsepower 3.4-liter V8 and an additional 218 ponies courtesy of a pair of electric motors? More power, obviously.
